MEASURED PRINTING SHEETS

Print templates, at actual size.

Three usable arrangements, with permanent downloads. Choose the matching stock, keep the page at 100%, then measure a test print before preparing a full run.

Before you print

These are outline worksheets for arranging artwork, not finished artwork or a press imposition service. Solid rectangles mark finished trim. Dashed rectangles mark the bleed footprints and usable sheet boundary. Each file reserves a 5 mm margin on all sides, adds 3 mm bleed on every trim edge, and leaves a further 3 mm gap between bleed footprints. Adjacent trim edges are therefore 9 mm apart.

Open the PDF in a viewer that exposes paper size and scaling. Select the exact sheet format and Actual size or 100%, rather than Fit. The PDF page box and SVG dimensions match the named physical stock. A 100 mm gauge sits in the lower margin; a printer can clip that margin, so use the separate print calibration sheets when you need gauges further inside the page.

The files are checked digitally for page dimensions, complete coordinates and non-overlapping bleed footprints. They have not been physically measured on your printer. Driver settings, stock feeding, unprintable margins and cutting tolerance remain process-specific.

Choose a sheet

All three worksheets use 5 mm sheet margins, 3 mm bleed per edge and 3 mm extra gaps.

A4 · 2 PIECES

Two A6 pieces on A4

A two-piece arrangement on 210 × 297 mm stock. Each 105 × 148 mm finished piece has its own 3 mm bleed footprint.

Usable sheet: 200 × 287 mm. Bleed footprint: 111 × 154 mm. This is a feasible 2-piece arrangement; another arrangement may fit more. See the worked dimensions and explanation.

Adjust these settings in the planner.

A3 · 5 PIECES

Five A6 pieces on A3

Two upright pieces and three rotated pieces on 297 × 420 mm stock. The best uniform grid under these allowances fits four.

Usable sheet: 287 × 410 mm. Bleed footprint: 111 × 154 mm. This is a feasible 5-piece arrangement; another arrangement may fit more. See the worked dimensions and explanation.

SRA3 · 2 PIECES

Two A4 pieces on SRA3

A two-piece arrangement on 320 × 450 mm stock. Each finished A4 piece is 210 × 297 mm, with a 216 × 303 mm bleed footprint.

Usable sheet: 310 × 440 mm. Bleed footprint: 216 × 303 mm. This is a feasible 2-piece arrangement, reaching the independent area upper bound under these constraints. See the worked dimensions and explanation.

Use the coordinates

The CSV records every trim rectangle and its surrounding bleed footprint. Coordinates are in millimetres, measured from the top-left of the sheet. Keep the sheet at its stated orientation. A rotation value of 90 swaps the piece width and height; it does not resize the artwork.

For a different sheet, quantity or printer allowance, use the layout planner. To inspect comparable arrangements and reproduce the geometric checks, read the layout benchmark. The bleed and margins guide explains the regions shown in these worksheets.

Check the measured scale

If a nominal 100 mm gauge prints at 98 mm, the scale error is −2%. An adjustment calculated as 100 ÷ 98 × 100 is approximately 102.0408%, but this only compensates for uniform scaling. Check both axes on a calibration sheet before applying a correction.
